son eats only pureed and mashed doesn't chew

Hi,
My son is 19 months and is only on mashed and pureed food. I m so stressed with the fact that toddlers of his age eats almost everything. I try very hard to make him eat whatever we eat. I m very frustrated with all this because he ends up skipping his meal completely. He doesn't chew his food, only swallows. Thus gags. How do I make him chew??? Please suggest
