I know of a very effective remedy to get rid of lice and nits. It is very effective and totally natural remedy so it is quite safe and even does not harm the hair. Neem oil is the safest and best way to get rid of lice. Just applying neem oil and keeping it for few hours helps in getting rid of lice and nits. This has to be followed for several weeks as the nits have a different cycle and to get rid of all of them, regular application is to be followed.

When children come close together and sit close next to each other which causes the transfer the head lice and nit. It is often seen that the head lice problem is more in girls than in boys as girls have longer hair than the boys. You can try using the medimex shampoo and oil which is specially for the lice and nits. It can be used before taking bath apply the oil and use the flea comb which is used to remove lice, after that take a bath using the shampoo and then again use the comb on wet hair itself.

Lice are said to be feeding on the scalp usually on the blood of the child. I know it seems gross but it is true and it might also cause infection. These are parasitic insects which also lay eggs in the head and grow numerously within no time. This can also happen if your child does not have clean hygienic habits. She should follow a proper haircare routine so that she gets rid of the all the dirt and reduce the chances of having lice. All the dirt, dust and sweat which is accumulated can cause the rise of these lice and nits.

There are various was by which you can get rid of the lice from your child’s head. There are several creams, shampoos, oils and combs available for the lice. I had used a cream which was extremely effective. I had got it from a drug store by asking the pharmacist itself and he suggested me to try it and it was really effective. That cream was supposed to be applied before taking bath for at least 20 minutes. Then take a proper shower and shampoo the head and then in wet hair use the flea comb and get rid of the lice completely.

Children may also find and feel the crawling and itching of the lice in their head. Using combs and brushes of people who already have lice can also cause lice transfer. Lice can also be transferred from the clothes, caps, scarfs and various other belongings used by the person having lice. Though it is not always necessary that lice can be caused due to unhealthy and unhygienic habits. There can be someone in the family as well who might be having the lice problem like cousins or anyone. You cannot stop your child from getting lice but can prevent it.

Mostly all the over the counter treatments involve chemicals in them which we feel can damage our child’s hair. But there are medicated shampoos available in the drug stores. While using these shampoos you should cover the entire head and scalp of the child and make sure you apply it properly. Also make sure that the shampoo is not irritating the eyes and mouth of the child if so then wash off the shampoo immediately. These shampoos are mostly effective and do not have any problem with the children as they are made taking in consideration of the children.

There needs to be a continuous treatment as you might feel that the lice is gone but it is not true, they might occur again and lay eggs. The lice lay eggs which hatch at different times and the cycle is continuous. If you stop the treatment in middle then you will again have lice in your head when the remaining eggs hatch. It is necessary that you complete the treatment so that there is no occurrence of the lice again. Keep using the medication or shampoo whatever you use for at least four weeks. This will complete the treatment entirely and properly.
