It is very important to get pregnant women screen for hepatitis B before delivery. Hepatitis B infection can pass on from the mother to the child and can be dangerous for the child. It is better to get vaccinated for Hep B as it protects against the infection. Hep B infection can be due to lifestyle choices or multiple partners. If newborns are exposed to this virus, then they will have chronic infections throughout their life so it is better to be safe than sorry.

IT is better to be screened for Hep B rather than transmitting to the baby. The baby will then become chronic carrier of Hep B virus and may suffer from liver disease later or even cancer. As there is no cure for Hep B so it is better to get screened. Hep B virus is tested for in the first prenatal check up. If the results are negative and if there is a high risk of developing Hep B, then the doctor will advise pregnant women to get vaccinated.

It is very important for a pregnant women to get tested for Hepatitis B. If a pregnant women is affected with Hepatitis B then she can transmit the virus of this disease to the new-born infant after delivery or the unborn baby during the pregnancy. If not tested and prevented the infants are mostly likely to have this chronically infected disease.

It is better to get a screen test of Hepatitis B as this disease causes severe liver infection by a virus called as Hepatitis B Virus (HBV). This virus attacks the cells of the liver which leads to many serious diseases like cancer, liver cirrhosis and liver failure. This virus spreads through contacts and blood and bodily fluids.

If you are positive in the Hepatitis B test while you are pregnant, then you should immediately consult a good liver specialist for the further medication. It is good to consult a good doctor even though the HBV, that is the virus doesn’t cause much complication in the pregnancy, it is better to be safe and secure for your baby.

Hello this is a highly recommended test by the gynaecologist to protect the newborn from this dangerous virus during pregnancy. If the results of the Hepatitis B test of a pregnant women are positive than the newborn infant should be injected by vaccines. The dose of Hepatitis B Immune globulin (HBIG) and dose of Hepatitis B vaccine. These vaccines can protect the infant lifelong against the infection of Hepatitis B if given within the 12 hours of birth.

Hi if a mother who is infected with Hepatitis B wants to breastfeed her newborn child can do so as according to World Health Organisation and CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) it is suggested to breastfeed the child inspite of being infected by Hepatitis B as the milk has many benefits which outweigh the risks of the disease virus being transmitted from the mother to the infant.

Hello there is a test by which you can get to know if you are infected by Hepatitis B or not called as the Hepatitis B blood panel. This is a three part blood test which is suggested by the doctor where your blood sample will be tested for three different tests.

Hi! There are various reasons for the cause of Hepatitis B such as HBV from infected father, sibling or any other family member who has been infected in the house. This infection also spreads through multiple partners and lifestyle and if newborns are exposed to this virus they can get chronically infected for lifetime. All this can be prevented by vaccinations at the right time.

To prevent Hepatitis B the infected person should be vaccinated by three shots given over a period of six months. The course should be complete for a protection for lifetime. The Infant should be given two shots within 12 hours of the birth and the next shot of dose can be given after six months to be safe and secure and infection free for lifetime.
