My cousin has been married for 5 years and she has been trying for a baby since last year but she is unable to conceive. she has got herself checked completely and there seems to be no problem with her. She is so confused and now she has also got her husband checked and to their surprise, he is also normal with no signs of infertility. They are unable to comprehend that how they are unable to conceive. IF the tests are normal, then how can they not conceive? What could be the reason for this?

It is really difficult to explain unexplained infertility because everything seems to be normal. Even after trying to conceive after 1 year of regular unprotected intercourse, if there is no pregnancy then this is considered as infertility. But this does not hold true in women above 35 years age. To confirm unexplained infertility, both the couples are assessed. If everything is normal the first time, the tests are repeated after about a month. So this is a dicey situation. As the cause is not known, so it is impossible to treat the condition also.
