Angry Baby 3.5 months not taking feed properly

    Hello Friends,

I have baby of 3.5 months old. Initialy for 3 months he used to take 4-5 ounces(150ml) of milk each time as per his diet schedule. But nowadays he is not taking milk as per schedule of 6-7 times in a day. Apart from this his other activities are normal as he sleeps for long hour, plays but not feeling hungry
Can any of you provide suggestion as I am worried he is losing weight because of not having proper milk.

    Hi,

If your baby is not taking milk as per schedule, then you have to accept to the changes. Your baby is now growing and there would be changes in his diet and sleep pattern. If your baby is normal and active in spite of change in his milk intake, then you need not worry. Sooner your baby will have a set schedule. If your baby is inactive or if you are noticing some other changes, then you need to consult your pediatrician

    Hi Arindom,

there is no need to worry as it is normal in some babies. Newborn babies want frequent feeding but as they grow, their feeding is slightly decreased. As you have mentioned, that the baby has normal activities and sleep hours so this means that the baby is getting enough nutrients that he requires. If the baby was hungry, then he would have been cranky or irritated and not interested in activities.

If you are too concerned, then you should consult your pediatrician and he will be able to advise you. He will check the baby for parameters such as proper growth and development and if there is some deficiency or problem, guide you.

You need to consult your pediatrician as there might be some problem in your baby due to which he is not taking feed properly. As you have mentioned, he is losing weight so it seems he is not getting enough feed which is really worrisome. You should immediately consult a pediatrician who will be able to diagnose the problem. It may be that you are not producing enough milk. Please don't delay.
