Hi! The Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) is a pregnancy test which is done to check the infants genetic and biochemical abnormality. The cells of the baby and placenta are same so a small sample of the placenta is taken using a needle which is inserted from the abdomen region.

The women having a family history of disorders should also do this test. The women who also has a child with abnormalities should do this test for safety.
