Dizziness and fainting is common during pregnancy. It is mainly due to fluctuations in blood pressure which is common in pregnancy. There are a lot of changes in the body in pregnancy as there is to be more circulation so the heart rate increases. The blood vessels dilate to increase the circulation and due to this there is decrease in blood pressure. This is more common in mid pregnancy.
Such spells can be prevented by having something in bed on waking up and before getting out of the bed. Getting up slowly and also not standing up abruptly prevents such dizzy and fainting spells.

Dizziness and fainting spells are caused by low blood sugar levels and also due to high levels of hormones during pregnancy. This is observed in early stages of pregnancy but in later stages of pregnancy, the weight of the baby squeezes the blood vessels in legs, pelvis and lower body when lying on the back. My mother told me that this can be prevented by not being hungry and having frequent snacks.

Hi! When a lady is pregnant she undergoes a lot of cardiovascular changes leading to increased heart rates and more blood is pumped and the amount of blood in the body also increases, dilating the nerves and decreasing the blood pressure reaching the lowest point in the pregnancy causing dizziness and light headedness.

There are certain times when the nervous and cardiovascular system are not able to adapt the sudden change in the blood pressure and dilation in the blood vessels, there is excessive blood flow to the brain making you feel dizzy and a reason for you to faint.

Hello if you are pregnant and if you start feeling dizzy then don’t panic just lie down on the floor so that you don’t fall and hurt yourself and just relax. If there is no place to lie down just try to sit down and put your head in between the knees and just stay calm and if you are doing certain activity then just stop everything, whatever you are doing.

Hi to avoid dizziness it is recommended to stand up slowly as the blood is pooled in the lower body it takes time to return to your heart causing an imbalance when you suddenly stand up and your blood pressure also might drop and you can faint. Therefore get up slowly from wherever you are seated or sleeping.

There are other reasons for dizziness and fainting like lying on the back flat which can make the problem worse as during the second or third trimester the women can develop supine hypotensive syndrome in which the blood pumps less blood if women lies on the back causing light headedness.

The reason for fainting and dizziness can also be when you don’t eat and drink sufficiently causing low sugar levels. In pregnancy this is quite common as women avoid food because of nausea, but small meals should be taken at regular intervals to avoid dizziness and fainting. Dehydration is the major reason for fainting so it is important to consume fluids every time.

Hi if you are pregnant and anemic at the same time then it is quite obvious that you might be feeling dizzy all the time as the red blood cells to carry oxygen to the brain are very few making you feel lightheaded. You should increase the intake of iron in your balanced diet and eat food having iron in larger quantities.
