    Benefits of Walking During Pregnancy

Which health benefits can pregnant women enjoy through walking? Can walking cause any health risk to pregnant women? Is it necessary to do other exercises if pregnant women take up walking?

My friend was always on heavier side and when she conceived she was bit overweight. During pregnancy, she put on more weight and we were all sure of her having a caesarian delivery but she had a normal delivery and I guess this was due to walking. She used to walk a lot. she was walking throughout her pregnancy whenever possible and even in her last month, she used to take walks. So I guess walking is really beneficial in pregnancy. It makes the joints flexible and eases labour pain and delivery.

Hello walking is very important and helps in keeping the weight in control and also keeps baby’s weight in control, when you gain those extra fats. It keeps the baby healthy and not over weight which is not possible to deliver naturally.

Hi the doctors also recommend walking for all the pregnant ladies. Women who do not exercise at all suffer from gestational diabetes during their pregnancy. Walking daily only for 30 minutes is more than enough to keep your weight constant and reduces the risk of having gestational diabetes or pregnancy diabetes significantly.

Walking is also considered as a stress-buster and a boon for the pregnant women. The hormones cause a lot of stress and extreme mood swings, from happiness to depression. Walking releases endorphins which makes the body feel good and elevates your mood keeping you happy.

Hello all, exercising in the pregnancy is necessary to keep you fit and active and walking is the best one. Walking daily increases the flexibility and tones up your muscles and also releases the pain. As the hip muscles are flexible and relaxed it helps you in delivering a natural birth and the labour is quite easy compared to the other women who don’t exercise.

If you don’t get specific time for walking you can still burn some fats. Try to walk to short distances instead of driving, take the stairs if possible instead of elevators and walk while going for grocery shopping. Try to go for a walk after dinner with your partner.
