Red face Forum for Bridal Hairstyle Ideas and Suggestions

Hi everyone. I am getting married next year sometime and a fairy tale wedding has been a dream of mine since i was 5! Obviously, I want to look better than fairy tale princesses. So I am going to be on the lookout for the most amazing ideas to ensure I look like one.

I am starting this thread with requests that everybody add their photos and suggestions for bridal hairstyles on this thread. Consider it to be a mini-blog, if you will. Post photos of your own weddings, and suggestions of the best hair styles to suit indian bridal wear and cocktail wear.

Invite other to-be brides to post their hair style ideas and options here and lets all ACTUALLY USE a FORUM for what it truly IS: Discussions!

Discuss and comment on which hair style you like or dislike... and how you would like for it to be modified. So lets start posting and discussing!

    Happy Wedding to Me!!!

    Great Idea, Kalash

    Hi Kalash,

That is an amazing idea! I don't know why I didnt think of this when I was getting married last year.
I am definitely going to post pictures of my different hair styles for my different functions here so you can get some ideas.

But in the meantime, let me give some basic suggestions...

If you have a round or chubby face, then PLEASE do NOT do hairstyles that tie up all your hair tightly. It will make your face look fat even if it isn't. See how ugly Aishwarya Rai's face looks in this picture because of severe hairstyle.

    aishwarya_rai_at_cannes_film_festival_2305130340_019.jpg

Do hair styles that leave some hair framing you face..like a messy bun. Aishwarya's face is softened by those swirly messy curls just hanging down in an artful yet messy manner framing her face and making it appear more long and thin. huge or wide cheekbones can be softened with gentle, wispy layers around the ears.

If you have an Oval face, lucky you! Nearly any style will look good on you!

If you have a large nose, dont do a middle parting. Instead, opt for a dramatic side part, which will take attention away from the nose.

A High forehead can be camouflaged with bangs. see the before and after pic below.. doesnt she look prettier and more feminine with the bangs?

So use hairstyles with bangs if you have a high forehead.

Thats it for my suggestions for now. Ill Post some of my wedding hairstyles later! Ciao for now!!

    Red face Thanks Neha!

    Heyy Neha!

Thank you so much for your suggestion!s! Yes you're right about tight hairstyles.. Ugh Aishwarya looks ugly because her hair only at Cannes every year!

Ill make sure that whoever I select my hair-stylist as is clear on the fact that i do not want my tight and tied to my scalp for any reason!

Cos, right now at least, my face is as big as hers looks. But I'm on a strict diet and will soon hopefully loose some of that chubbiness on my face.. But still... my bone structure is wide cheekbones. So Messy Hairstyles it is!!

Waiting to see you wedding pictures Neha!!!

Question Wow! I'm Bookmarking this forum NOW!

Kalash, that is a BRILLIANT idea! I'm getting married in December.. Chosen Ram to do my Hair and Makeup.. Have you heard of him? He is damn famous in Mumbai..

So, anyways...I'm kind of dark and short and thin. But I have really long hip-length hair. Ram is suggesting that I cut it shorter and get my hair layered a bit so that it falls with volume. He is saying that my hair is covering up my features and hiding my delicate-ness.

Is that really possible? Hair can spoil or enhance your features?

I didn't want to cut it because I wanted natural long hairstyles in my wedding functions and didn't want to use extensions or fake hair and wigs.

You think I should do what he says?

the dupatta is to anyways cover the hair so this same thing but red in colour on top of a high bun will look beautiful.

the dupatta can start in the center of the bun. would look beautiful!

    Hi guys!

I just got engaged! soon the bridal craziness will start! im going to have like 5 -6 functions over a span of 3 days..

I have curly frizzy hair..obviously the hair stylist can style my hair nicely, but 2 different hair styles in the same day will be difficult na?

Do you guys think i should permanently straighten my hair before the wedding so that the hair styling becomes easier and faster?

Hi! Dont even think about straightenig them permanently.. Wil ruin most hairstyles. You hair will not curl nicely and if you do any hairstyle, in an hour it will start unraveling!
