Road safety rules can be best taught to kids through games or play. While playing, parents can teach about the significance of traffic lights, road rules and so on. Parents can play the game where in they can act as pedestrians and then teach the rules. Another way of teaching is through live examples. Going out with the kid and showing traffic lights and how vehicles move and stop at the lights is a good way. They can also show zebra crossings and footapath. this is the best way to teach as a child learns better by observations.

The first basic that any kid should be taught is how to walk on the road. When walking on the road, parents should hold the hand of the child irrespective of the fact whether there is traffic or not. Teach kids about zebra crossing and how to cross roads on from zebra crossing. Teaching about the traffic lights at this stage is helpful as then the kid will know when to go and when to stop. Parents should teach by way of examples so if you follow all the rules, the kids will follow too. Also make sure to adhere to all precautions while crossing the road.
