Schools should set up School Safety Committee which includes Parents and Management.

What should this School Safety Committee do?
Assess the risks that are facing the school.
Ask the school how they mitigate those risks.
Ask and verify how the school safety checks are documented and reported by the school.
Create a system for inspecting the school in a friendly, informal and comprehensive manner to verify the truth of the reports, and to report anything untoward.*
Ensure that the school environment is open and transparent. Let there be lots of dialogue between schools and parents, let everyone in the school know that they are watched all the time.
Ensure that supervisory rosters are visible, and that parents, students and school managements can check on them every time.

Apart from the above Parent's role is as given below:

Listen to and talk with your children regularly. Find out what they’re thinking on all kinds of topics.
Communicate clearly on the violence issue. Explain that you don’t accept and won’t tolerate violent behavior. Discuss what violence is and is not.
    Discourage name-calling and teasing
Insist on knowing your children’s friends, whereabouts, and activities. It’s your right.

Hi, we as parents need to ensure that our child is absolutely safe and sound and is in a safe surrounding. Today we have heard of so many things like child labour, kidnap, sexual harassment, rape and many such things. All these things are very scary to hear and it is our responsibility as parent to take care of our child’s safety. Safety of our child is the main concern today in the schools as well. Today the rate of crime is increasing day by day and the act of violence and abuse is the main reason for us to worry.

I agree with what you are trying to say as children rarely speak up and are either scared to tell or terrified by the fact of being punished. Child safety is very important and no parent wants his or her child to be harmed. The crime rate and sexual abuse and harassments increasing day by day makes every parent worried for their child. It is important for us parents and the school authorities to be aware of all the situations happening around the children. It is important for us to know that our child is not becoming a victim.

Our children spend most of the time in their schools and apart from there either at home or in classes. Make sure that you know every detail what is happening with him, with whom he talks, who is his friend, with whom he has lunch and all such small details and also ask whether he feels anything strange and different or doesn’t feel good anytime. Just try to have a normal conversation. Make sure your child is under positive and safe surroundings to learn and study. Though schools are the safest places for our children still it is important for us to know every detail and take care of them.

Parents can assure that their children are in safe hands and are going to school which has safer surrounding and get a vulnerable learning experience altogether. Be in contact with your child constantly and talking to him so that you have details. Talking to our child every day is the best possible thing to do to keep him safe and sound. Talk about his school things, friends, teachers and various other things. Talk about all the interactions which have with others and then eventually they will start sharing things and make it a habit to share everything with you.

Hi, it is important to know if your child suddenly seems to change his or her behaviour or does not concentrate on studies like earlier, has low grades, being hyper or cranky all the time. It is important to find out the change in behaviour and also lookout for the warning signs. He might lose his friends and also ask in his school and if the matter is serious it is important that a necessary action must be taken to get out of the problem. If the situation is worst then also ask the teachers to help and sort out the problem.

It is extremely important to teach the children proper communication skills and also teach them how to solve their problems on their own. It is important that they handle their problem and also able to manage their emotions because they need to know that if in school he is troubled we won’t be there to protect him or her. It is important for them to learn that no one can touch them and if they do not like the touch, they should stay away from them. It is equally important for them to participate in group activities so that they can cope with different type of people.

It is important for the child to know that not everyone in the world is nice. They should avoid talking to strangers. It is important for us to teach our child to be safe and smart. Tell him or her the basic facts like do not talk to a stranger, do not touch any strange thing, to not eat anything given by any stranger or anyone as such. Make sure your child follows all the rules and regulations of the school and is disciplined. If you feel that your child is scared of something go to the cause of it and ask him in detail. It is important to keep an eye on your child and his activities.
