pestering colleague

a male colleague in my office is always backbiting behind my back. He spreads rumours about me. I have spoken to him regarding this matter but he did not listen. i do not know why he is doing this. Because of him i am thinking of quitting this job. what should i do?

you should speak to him sternly about this matter and give him some sort of ultimatum. Even if this does not seem to work, then you can complain to higher authorities. Your office may have a redress forum also and you can complain there also.
