    routine tets are important

Blood tests are a routine part of pregnancy care. There's more to know than just your blood group and whether you are rhesus positive or negative. blood tests also help to screen your haemoglobin levels. Haemoglobin is a part of your blood that carries oxygen around your body.Low hemoglobin means low iron binding capacity so more chances of having anemia. Anemia during pregnancy can be harmful for both the mother and the baby.

    routine tests are important

There are many other tests that also need to be done such as screening for German measles, hepatitis or any other hereditary diseases. These tests are optional but they sure reduce the risks of future complications. They also help in early treatment in case there is a problem.

Hi! These blood tests are necessary but you can choose the tests which you want to do. There is no need to be scared as these tests provide information about your health to the doctor. The doctor can suggest remedies if you are detected with any infection and disease and measures can be taken to prevent any circumstances.

These are highly recommended tests by the gynaecologist for the detection of the blood group of the mother. This is done for the further requirements if u need a transfusion in your pregnancy. This is also done to know the rhesus factor, whether you are positive or negative. If positive then there is a protein layer on your red blood cells and if you are negative you don’t have a protein layer.

Blood tests are commonly done to know your Haemoglobin levels whether low or high. Low haemoglobin suggests the deficiency of iron as in anaemia. The body needs iron for producing haemoglobin, doctor will prescribe iron tablets. Later again a blood test will be done in the 28th week to check the haemoglobin levels.

Hi a blood test is very important for a pregnant lady to check whether she is infected with the virus of Hepatitis B. As this disease is harmful for the fetus and can be transmitted to the baby before or after its birth. This can be prevented by doing the blood test and if the results are positive, the necessary measures can be taken like injections of vaccines and antibodies to avoid further complications.

Hello everyone the blood tests are highly recommended by the doctors especially for the pregnant women. These tests are also used to detect the sexually transmitted diseases like Syphilis. This disease can cause defects or abnormalities in the baby during the pregnancy if the mother has this disease. It can also cause a stillborn child and hence to prevent this, the test is done so that the doctor can treat you with penicillin to protect the baby from the disease.

The most important test in the blood test is the detection of AIDS and HIV. This is totally a test of your choice if you want to do it or not depends on you. But in some cases there are mothers suffering from the infection and to avoid it from spreading it to the baby these tests are performed so that the necessary measure can be taken to prevent it and the baby is born without the virus.

There are many other tests offered for the pregnant women like screening test for genetic disorders. These test can detect whether the baby has Down syndrome. These tests are called as triple marker, double marker and quad marker tests. These tests indicate accurate results and are carried out in the second trimester or at the end of first trimester. This test is done for the safety of the child and a expecting mother should definitely do it.

    Hi Arushi,

You should go for complete routine test during pregnancy to check & verify that everything is alright. Your family history, age and ethnic background can be a major factor for the risk of your child being born with genetic conditions, some of which leads to severity and reduce the quality and length of a child’s life. Your doctor recommends you to undergo some genetic screening for certain conditions after you get pregnant, there are now tests available that determine if you are a carrier.
