    The birth defect cerebral palsy is a condition which affects the movement and posture control. This is caused due to the damage to the brain which affects the movement of the brain and the child cannot move his muscles normally.

    This birth defect or disorder ranges from a low range to severe range. There are treatments which can help in improving the abilities of the child. There are other problems as well with children who have cerebral palsy like vision, hearing, speech problems, mental retardation, and learning disabilities.

    Hello, cerebral palsy is usually diagnosed after the age of 2 to 3 years. There are almost 1000 children who have cerebral palsy over the age of three and about 500,000 children and adults have cerebral palsy at all ages.

    There are three types of cerebral palsy and have symptoms of more than one type. The spastic cerebral palsy and dyskinetic cerebral palsy are types of cerebral palsy. There are almost 70 to 80 % of percent of children who have spastic cerebral palsy.

    In spastic cerebral palsy the muscles become stiff and makes the movement difficult. The child can have difficulty in walking. The muscles become tight causing the legs to turn inwards and making the movement difficult.

    In dyskinetic cerebral palsy 10 to 20 % children are affected. This affects the entire body and the muscles keep fluctuating. The muscles vary from too tight to too loose and causes uncontrolled movements which can be slow, rapid and even jerky.

    There are several cause which cause this like a severe jaundice which is not treated for a long time can cause a risk of permanent damage to the brain which might result into athethoid cerebral palsy. Other birth defects can also can cerebral palsy.

    Hello, cerebral palsy can be treated by a pediatrician by giving physical medicines and also prehabilitation physicians treat the child. The orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and ophthalmologists also treat the child.
