Many new mothers have common breastfeeding concerns. They are concerned whether they will be producing enough milk or not. Breast feeding in public is also a major concern. Breast engorgement is also a common concern. Engorgement is caused by increased blood supply, fluids and milk in the breast tissue is usually painful. If enough milk is not being removed, because of a skipped feeding or limited feeding time, breast may become engorged.

The best way to know whether the baby is getting enough milk is by checking the soiled diapers. the number of soiled diapers indicate whether the baby is getting enough milk or not. The normal breastmilk stool is pasty to watery, mustard coloured, and usually has little odour. After the first 3-4 days, the baby should have increasing bowel movements so that by the end of the first week he should be passing at least 2-3 substantial yellow stools each day.six soaking wet diapers in a day, after about 4-5 days means that the baby is getting a lot of milk.

most inverted or flat nipples do not cause problems during breastfeeding. If you have truly inverted or flat nipples, then you need to stimulate them during pregnancy. Manual stimulation do help in protruding inverted or flat nipples. If this does not work, then you need to have a nipple shield. With continuous practice breastfeeding should not be a problem. The baby takes much of areola and nipple into his mouth for sucking so seldom do flat or inverted nipples cause a problem.
