Hi, there are several ways through which you can help your child perform better in exams. Keep it a habit that your child studies every day and has a regular habit of completing the homework, revising what has been taught in the school every day. Once your child gets a habit of regular studying they will remember the concepts more clearly and easily. They will have enough time to solve their doubts and queries before the exam. Make sure your children are not cramming and getting stressed out. Make sure you are there for your child when he needs.

It is important to work on the problem areas of your child. Help your child to stay in touch with the things he has studied throughout the week. Give him practise tests so that he can remember what he has learnt and also understand what he is missing or what he has not clearly understood. Make sure that when you take the test child is taking all the test seriously and improve where he makes mistakes and finds out where he gets nervous. Make sure he has many tests so that the fear of exams goes away and the child is confident.

Keep a track of all the tests and results so that the children also understand how much they improve every single time they give the test. Seeing progress in their results will motivate them and give a boost to their confidence to do even better. Once your child starts giving tests he will be able to handle the stress and perform better every time. The review of the test is important and from that you can find out the level of the child. Taking the tests can also help your child to figure out where he or she is going wrong and on which problem areas he or she needs to work.

Remember it is necessary that the children do not feel pressurised and stressed when you tell them to study. It is important that you keep the study environment less stressful and distraction free. Make sure your child has a study corner where he is not distracted by anything and is a calm place. Having an environment which is stress free and distraction free can help child concentrate and focus on their studies properly. It is important that you don’t judge your children and do not pressurise them with your expectations as it can hamper the child’s mind.

Help children learn skills and strategies so that he or she can perform better in the exams. If your child is too nervous for the exam just talk to him and assure him that no matter what you are there with him and you believe in him and his preparation that he will do well and there is no need to be nervous and scared. Make him feel secure and let him know he has your support. Remember children need extra support and nurturing during the exam time and you as parents can make that happen.

This nervousness can make your child forget everything he has prepared and can cause mistakes in his exams. It is extremely necessary that you calm your child before he goes for the exams if he is extremely nervous. Tell your child to take deep breaths and calm himself, you should always boost his confidence so that he feels better. Make sure that you have no expectations and are happy with whatever grade he gets so that he doesn’t feel the anxiety.
