give in more effort. Try to be in good books of the boss by your hardwork. try to find out the reason for you being left behind.
This is normal. I have also been subjected to the same treatment where I work. It tends to be frustrating but I guess one can't do anything. Sometimes I m thinking of quitting but then I think that this will be same in any other office also so I have just stuck on.
I've seen glass ceiling at work in my own life a lot over past few years. Its definitely a painful place to be in. I felt too stuck. It made me introspect life better and I made changes and am peaceful with my life now.
