Foods That Can Help Kids Have Healthy Skin


Foods not only help to get a healthy body, but also keep skin good looking. There are certain foods that help in keeping skin radiating and free from problems. Read on to learn about them.
Kids have more sensitive and delicate skin than adults. Most of the skin care products that are available in the market have chemicals in different amounts. You cannot take a chance when it comes to young and very young kids. So, keeping your child’s skin safe and healthy through natural way is the best way.

Foods to Help Kids Have Healthy Skin

Have a quick look at the healthy foods that can help children have healthy skin.

1. Whole Grains

Whole grains like shredded wheat or Dalia, barley and brown rice are recommended as foods good for skin and health. However, oats is mostly suggested over these complex carbohydrates because it is low-glycaemic which means your child will stay protected from skin irritation and some skin problems also. In addition to this, oats contain natural plant chemical that helps sooth skin irritation and also protects from damage of skin cells.

2. Berries

Blueberries are said to tighten and rejuvenate skin because they are rich in anti-oxidants along with being high in fibre, vitamin A and C. They are low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium and along with that they are delicious as well. Blueberries will also help your child stay away from acne problem and blotchy spots. Raspberries and strawberries are good sources of vitamin C and add up in making skin glow as well as help reduce inflammation.

3. Spinach

Although green vegetables are all recommended, spinach is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. This healthy vegetable has lutein which helps keep your eyes sparkling white. In addition, it is a rich source of Vitamin B, C and E as well as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and omega 3 fatty acids.

4. Kiwi

Kiwi is a sour fruit liked by kids mostly and helps strengthen teeth and bones. It helps keep skin firm and protect your child from cancer.

5. Fish

If you are non-vegetarian, fish is one of the best sources for having healthy skin especially Salmon keeps skin moisturized and helps to make it look healthy and radiant.

6. Eggs

The main purpose of egg is to repair tissues of the skin. It helps keep your child’s skin clear of infections as well as acne. Daily intake of eggs improves the elasticity of the skin.

7. Dark Chocolate

Kids love chocolates and now you have a very good reason to allow them indulge on that. Just make sure you keep an eye on the amount they consume daily. Chocolate protects skin from damage and helps stay hydrated as well.

8. Watermelon

This fruit protects your child’s skin from harmful sunrays and helps fight cancer as well. It makes your child’s skin smooth and improves elasticity of skin.

9. Oranges

Oranges are known to have toning qualities and they are great source of vitamin C which helps improve texture and colour of the skin.

10. Avocadoes

Avocadoes help enhance your child’s complexion and they are rich source of Vitamins A and C as well as contains healthy fats good for skin. They also increase the elasticity and pigment of skin leaving it looking fresh and glowing.
Children also like having radiating skin. Educate your child so that she understands that the above food will help her keep her skin healthy and good looking for long. Eating foods like cucumber, carrots, tomato,beetroot etc; in raw form are very good for having healthy and beautiful skin.
