How to Pack Child's Lunch Box

Packing lunch box of children the right way is essential to make sure that they finish it without making any fuss. Let us take a look at the essentials of packing a child’s lunch box.

Your children’s lunch box should be packed in such a way that tempts them to open their lunch box during the break and eat them. If the lunch box seems boring then your children may put the whole lunch in the bin thereby depriving themselves of the necessary nutrients. So here are some ideas discussed how you should pack your children’s lunch box; it should be packed with great care because your kids consumes one third of their daily food intake while they are in school.

Choose Easy to Open Lunch Boxes

Pack the box properly and choose easy to open lunch boxes so that your kids do not face any problem opening it. Otherwise they may remain hungry and you may have to face embarrassments of the teacher complaining about your kids snatching foods from their friends. Pack the lunch in a proper way so that they do not drop the food on the ground while opening the box.

Make the Food Appealing

If the food appears appealing to your kids they will eat it without any hustles. You can make vegetable sandwiches by cutting the brown bread in different shape. You can try giving an additional box of colourful fruits with the lunch box that is appealing yet nutritious and healthy.

Do Not Repeat

Instead of repeating the same food everyday you may offer variety to the lunch. Your kid will be excited when he opens the lunch box and will be happy to finish the food as soon the bell rings for lunch in school.

Give Easy Foods in Lunch

When your kids are at school, lunch time is the time to play. So they prioritise going to the playground more than eating. So if you pack easy foods for your kids which they can finish in the shortest of time, they can finish that and save the extra time to play. Otherwise they will leave the food half eaten and rush with their friends to the playground and remain hungry for the rest of the time in school.

Let Your Kids Choose

If you do not want your child to sigh after opening the lunch box in school and bringing the lunch back home, ask your children what they want in lunch the next day. Allowing your kids to choose their lunch does not mean allowing a free reign. Give them options to choose but the options should be limited.
Do not promise your kids something that is hard for you to afford or make; do not let their wishes prevail upon your decisions. They should respect the amount of sacrifices that their parents do to bring a smile on their face. Just as parents adjust, your kids should also learn to adjust things. For example if some day their lunch is not up to their wish they should not create a scene in front of their friends, instead they should have that lunch politely.
As a reward for this productive behaviour you may grant their wish the next day by preparing them lunch as per their choice.

Involving Kids in the Kitchen

To make the lunch more interesting to your kids you can ask your kids to help you prepare their lunch during their off time. This will develop their interest as they helped you in preparing the food. Kids also learn some culinary lessons which may help them in their future.

Give Foods in a Little Excess

When you are packing your child’s lunch box, make sure that you prepare the food in a little excess, because in school it is very common in kids to share each other’s lunch. Packing the food in excess will save your child from the embarrassment as well as he will be left with some food even after sharing.
Maintaining proper hygiene is also very important while you are preparing your child’s lunch box. Prepare it with love and your child will feel the love.

What are the essentials of packing a child’s lunch box? How to make sure that children do not bring home their lunch box half eaten? Which recipes do most of the children like to have in their lunch box? Discuss here.
