Q: I had pre eclampsia during my 1st pregnancy and delivered prematurely. To pre-empt the recurrence of the condition during my 2nd pregnancy, I have been advised to take 1 aspirin (100 mg) a day. Is it safe to do so?

A: Yes it is safe to do so. In fact, this is one of the treatments for pre-eclamsia.
