Good at Extracurricular Activities

When it comes to co curricular, your child is more talented than others. They probably excel in things like painting, designing, cooking, acting etc. They are only unable to sustain attention when it comes to anything that is either written or verbal. They seem to prefer visuals to texts.

You have often observed your child zoning out as it were, daydreaming whenever you are trying to explain a lesson to them. They lose track of time and seem too absorbed in their own world and is very often accused of being lazy.

Does your child often complain of feeling dizzy or having headaches and stomach-aches? This might happen especially after they try to read something for a long time. They might even complain of vision problems.

Letters Appear Moving and Swirling

Your child might be complaining to you that the letters seem to move and swirl before their eyes. They might complain of double vision. Eye checkups have not revealed any problem in the eyes but this error in vision seems to be continuing. This is a sign of dyslexia.

Does your child also complain of hearing strange noises? Do these noises often distract your child from their studies? Does your child have difficulty in comprehending your words or repeating what you just said to them? Does your child speak disjointed sentences, which sometimes does not make sense?

Abnormal Motor Skills

Are the motor skills of your child often abnormal? Do they sometimes walk in a very wobbly fashion? Do their movements seem very uncoordinated and sluggish? Dyslexic children often confuse between left and right, not knowing which foot to move first, etc.
