When you give your baby formula milk you've to sterlise the bottles and teats before each feed. The best thing to do is sterlise them at once and fill them with required amount of cooled boiled water. You can add formula just before you give your baby a feed. Formula can be given to compliment breast feed. And it is suggested that some cooled boiled water can be given between two feeds to avoind constipation.
