Dates Roll


Ingredients
2 cups seedless dates (finely chopped)
approx. amount of marie biscuits flour for binding
ghee or butter 1/2-1 tsp
little powdered sugar (optional).

Method
Chop the seedless dates. grind a few marie (or any array root content) biscuits into fine powder/flour. mix it well into the chopped dates to make dough. add little ghee and powdered sugar to make the dough stiff and dry. shape the dough into an elongated roll. wrap this roll into an aluminium foil and keep it under refrigeration for about 2-3 hrs. Cut the roll into pieces while serving. Tastes best when chilled. This roll remains for about a week if stored in a refrigerator. Nutritional values : Dates are rich in iron (zinc). Marie biscuits contain less sugar and array root powder which is high in fibre. This makes a delicious as well as healthy dessert.
