DAL MALAI Recipe | Main Course Recipe by PJP |
| INGREDIENTS | ½ Cup toor dal
4 Pods garlic
Asafoetida
Salt
Turmeric powder
2 tbsp Malai
¼ Cup milk
Mustard
Urad dal
Red Chillies
Jeera
Pepper
1 Clove
Curry leaves for seasoning
Oil | METHOD | 1. Wash dal and add 2 cups of water to it.
2. Put in the peeled pods of garlic, 2 pinches of asafoetida, salt, turmeric powder and a teaspoon of oil and cook it till it is soft.
3. Once done, mash it slightly taking care that the garlic alone are mashed very well - dont mash the dal too much. to the slightly thickened dal, add the malai and stir well.
4. Bring to a boil. Now mix the milk and bring it to a boil.
5. In a separate pan, add 2 teaspoon of oil. nce hot, add the red chillies whose stem have been slightly slit.
6. Fry till it darkens. Then add the mustard seeds, urad dal, jeera, pepper, clove and curry leaves and pour it into the dal.
7. Bring it to a slight boil. 8. Check for salt requirement.
9. Serve hot with phulkas or rice. |
