 nita, to answer your question, yes it is not pretty to have a dining table near a shoe closet. but in this unavoidable situation, you can make sure that your shoe closet is closed and there are not shoes lying outside the closet at any time. also try and complement the look of the shoe closet with the dining table colour so that it does not look out of place. if your shoe closet is of medium height you can put small articles on it and maybe also a small short lamp which will not only give some mood lighting to the dining area but will also soften the look.
