i had gone to govandi where teh dyselexia association gave me a provisional certificate stating that a dyselexic could get exemption in hindi.teh rutambara college sent me to new mumbai to ask the educational officers as to what could be done.after i cam eback,i told teh rutambara college abt whatever theytold me.tehn i ahd gone for a 11 day holiday.after i came back,teh college made sign a letter stating that i do not object with the college or with hsc board for my on taking hindi.the college said they do not have the work experience subject which my son could opt for instead of hindi.

i'm not from india, neither am i a parent, i just stumbled on this page by coincidence. i am dyslectic myself, i am now almost 17. i didn't even know i had dyslexia until the age of 14, almost 15. before that i was also able to compensate with other skills, so my lack of reading and writing skills didn't really get much attention. however, after i was diagnosed with dyslexia my school career became a whole lot easier. i hardly have to study for anything now, i just pay a little bit attention during the lessons, and i can make my exams without any trouble. i am now graduated, with very nice notes compared to my classmates, even tho i hardly do anything for it, and they did. i'm hoping to be an airline pilot in about two years, and i'm not expecting much trouble from my dyslexia during my education to a pilot, since i know how to deal with it now i know that i have dyslexia. i'm sorry for any spelling mistakes i might have made when i typed this, my own language is dutch, english is just a second language, so writing english could be tricky sometimes with dyslexia. my english speech is better ;)

we cannot judge that children with dyslexia are dull,they are more intelligent than the the normal childre.only difference is their way of understanding is different from the normal children.one more thing indian education system has made the children the burden of learning more languages,for ex.child speaking tamil is forcible to learn hindi along with english,their the child looses confidence. confidence grows with language mother tongue. now a days teachers in schools changes so..frequently it becomes difficult for the child to adjust with the teacher everytime.lack of creative encouragement in schools also main cause for the poor performance of the child.i feel indian education system must take this seriously and should make the education as practical based rather than theoritical.one more thing grooming up of so..many private schools and institutes with less importance for the value based education is also the main reason for the poor performance of the child.

my son 12 is dylexia student , i admitted in speacial school , and tried with yoga practices , he didn't more active , but with a speacial school and continous swimming practice made him active with good presence of mind . his memory is lacking , noe iam trying with cinema songs for memory skill , line by line he is improving , but i have make duty time table every day. even care with food - dress code . i suggest only special school or an remedial teacher will the boy.

my son is now 15, he was told after testing at scottish rite hospital to be dyslex...to no avail... the school only cut his work in half...that did not help by any means. in the 8th grade we sent him to a school in ft. worth, texas called hill school for children with dyslexia...it cost us 9 thousand dollars.....but, he can at least read a menu from a resturant. he had to back to mainstream public school....doing horrible...i am not a wealthy woman, a single mother and can't afford 9 thousand dollars a yr.i just want my son to have a normal life, go to college and at this rate, i feel like he will just be able to hold a blue collar job...please, someone tell me what i can do! thanks in advance, judy
