It is a great joy for parent to see their little angel growing up every day. By each passing month remarkable developments can be observed in the little one. Let us take a look at the developmental milestones that your baby may achieve between 3 to 6 months of her development.
From 3 to 6 months it is smiling chuckling laughing and squealing time for your baby. You will notice that your baby will undergo a lot of changes and attain the developmental milestones. Here are the developmental milestones that your baby may attain between 3 to 6 months.

Three Months

She will immediately see a toy held above her. She will smile when you speak and squeal and gurgle with pleasure. She will show obvious signs of curiosity and interest in what is happening around her. She will develop a skill to lift her head while lying on her back very soon. She may also be able to hold her head for some minutes when she lifts it. She will be experimenting more with her hands and the sense of touch will start developing in her. She will also love moving her legs along with her arms while lying and observing the objects around her.

How to aid baby’s development in the third month?

Hanging toys on her crib can help to boost her observational skills. You can get some brightly coloured rattles for her to hold them in her hands. Getting a play gym for her can also be a great idea as she can have a lot of fun out there. She can also enjoy the sight of colourful pictures along with your talks.

Four Months

She will react in an excited manner at feeding time. She will laugh and chuckle when played with. She will love to be propped up so that she can keep an eye on what is going on around her and she will turn her head towards any sound. Be careful about what you give in her hand as whatever she holds in her hands can straightaway land-up in her mouth. Her vision will be much more developed than before. By this time she will also start babbling. So talk to her and see if she responds with her cute babbles.

How to aid baby’s development in the fourth month?

Age appropriate toys of variety of shapes and sizes can be introduced to your baby for stimulating her brain development. Music can also play an important role in boost her brain development. You can play soft music or nursery rhymes to stimulate her senses of hearing. Talk to her whenever you get time. Tell her stories. Talking to babies is one of the important things that parents can do for boosting speech development in them.

Five Months

She can express fear, anger and disgust. By this time she will show a greater response to the acts that you carry-out in front of her. Try playing peek-a-boo with her and you will surely love the way in which she responds. You can also make funny faces to entertain her and enjoy her cute laughter. Some babies also learn to sit-up by this month but most of them would not be able to sit without support. They may still need some more time master this skill.

How to aid baby’s development in the fifth month?

Reading books to your baby can be a great way to stimulate her listing and speaking skills. You can help her sit by propping her with cushions and give her a toy to play with to let her enjoy this sitting-up time. Play simple yet interesting games with her like hiding a toy under a blanket etc. Have a lot of baby talk with her and enjoy every bit of her of growing-up.

Six Months

The baby will be able to differentiate between different kinds of food and develop dietary preferences. She will also be fascinated by mirrors and the fact that she can see an image of herself in one.

How to aid baby’s development in the sixth month?

Now it is the time to introduce solids to her in order to aid her growth and development. Moong Dal Khichdi, semolina porridge, ragi malt are some of the Indian baby foods that you can opt for. Make sure that you discuss the food items that you are going to introduce in your baby’s diet with your baby’s paediatrician.
It is very important to note that all babies are unique and they grow at their own pace. Some babies may attain developmental milestones early whereas some babies may take more time. If you have any concerns related to your baby’s growth and development, do not forget to bring it to the notice of your doctor.
