Stimulating Your Baby
Remember that you are the most important person in your baby's life. It is important that you establish a strong bond with her. Facial contact is extremely important, as your face is one of the few things a baby responds to in the first few weeks. Bring your face close to your baby's and be as animated as possible by smiling, moving your head and raising your eyebrows. Hold conversations with your baby. Read to your baby. Learning Spurts
Babies do not grow, develop and learn at a constant rate. During a learning spurt, the baby will devour new ideas and skills and apply them immediately. However, at the same time, she may stop certain other activities or seem to forget certain skills. This usually happens because the baby is concentrating her energies on learning new things. Once she has mastered the new skill, the old ones will return.
While you are bathing or dressing-up your baby, describe the activity in which both of are involved.
Help your baby recognise her different body parts by pointing out at them while talking to her.
Introduce different toys to her and tell her what each one of them is called.
When your baby turns 4 months old, give her some tummy time and increase it little-by-little.
Encourage your baby to recognise different gestures like waving good-bye, saying hello, giving a flying kiss etc.
Move a toy in front of your baby with your hands and encourage her to grab it.
As your baby becomes 8 to 10 months old, get stacking toys for her.
After your baby learns to walk, get a tricycle, ridding toys and other push and pull toys for her.
Introduce different textures to your baby by helping her touch different fabrics, foods, toys etc.
Always maintain a cheerful and pollution free atmosphere at home.
While talking to the baby encourage her to respond through giggles, coos, babbles etc.
Point at different objects around your baby and name them.

ya! its very true that a child's mind is like a sponge. whatever they are taught in this age, whether good or bad will all be absorbed in their mind. therefore, a parent must be very careful to teach the right thing to the child.
it is extremely important as to "how" you are teaching and also "what" you are teaching at what stage.
children have very unique phases to the "learning process" which are some times very specific to individuals.
it is wrong teaching that results in wrong outcome.
please remember that adults have to be obsrevant with each child and be equipped with the proper way of making them learn.
motivating factors (vary from physical things to emotional) have to be positive and based upon the stage of life of the child.
giving free time and space initially is a must while helping them learn.

i agree to all of u, i need to know how can a mother be motivated to keep them all the time on there toes.
i had very nicely given my daughter all the training,now she is going to school from where she learns , which i feel she has forgotten all i had put in her. please please ponder on this
