Behavioural development in toddlers and preschoolers depends on parent-child interactions. Encourage all-round development in your child by taking care of safety and developmental issue.
Toddlers learn a lot of things while playing and interacting with parents and other people around. No two children show same signs of development. There are stages and a child learns step-by-step. Here are some of the facts and what you can do to help your child become a good person in life.
Development of a child happens gradually and as a parent if you allow your child a free hand while keeping an eye on her for her safety, you can help her get along with this journey comfortably and successfully. Spending more and more time with your toddler and observing her activities will help you assist your child.
At times you might notice very fast development and sometimes it appears like the development has slowed down. So, if you know what your toddler or a preschooler is expected to do at different stages, you can compare and analyze whether your child is attaining developmental milestones at right pace.

Safety for Toddlers and Preschoolers
Safety is one of the most important issues when you have a toddler or a preschooler at home.
Preschoolers are very active and easily get into dangerous situations. Parental supervision is necessary.
Falls are common and are the main causes of injury also. Parents should lock the doors that have access to dangerous areas.
Keep medicines and dangerous household items safely locked and out of reach of small kids.
Careful when cooking because kitchens are prime areas where toddlers come in contact with hot vessels and utensils.
Since language development starts during preschool years, parents should read out stories to their kids often.
Preschooler should be introduced to discipline and while making choices and facing new challenges, she should be aware of her limits.
TV or screen exposure should be limited to maximum 1 hour.
In addition to personal skills, a preschooler learns social skills also during these years. Parents should let their children interact with other children of the same age by taking them to children’s park and letting them play together. If you find any developmental issue, talk to your pediatrician.
