Legendary Moms of Bollywood

Bollywood has no dearth of good actresses and many of them have been able to balance their personal and professional lives very well. Information about some legendary moms of Bollywood is discussed below.


Nargis

A caring mother and a legendary actress of Bollywood, Nargis, never gave a second thought when she quit her acting career and played the role of homemaker looking after her kids, two daughters Namrata and Priya and her son, Sanjay. She learnt cooking so that she could prepare delicious dishes for her husband and kids. She will be remembered for her role of a caring yet strong mother in the movie ‘Mother India’.


Hema Malini

Hema Malini, ‘the Dream Girl’ of Bollywood is still considered as one of the most successful and influential actresses of Indian Film Industry. After successfully appearing in many Hindi movies, Hema Malini took a break from acting in 70s. She wanted to concentrate on her family and raising her two daughters, Esha and Ahana. Though she made her come back in the film industry in 2003 with the blockbuster movie ‘Baghban’ opposite to Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan. Surprisingly in this movie she played the role of caring and loving mother who has five sons.


Jaya Bachchan

Jaya Bachchan, one of the versatile actresses of Bollywood stopped working in the movies after she got married to the Angry Man of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachcha. Jaya became the mother of two kids, elder one is daughter Sweta and younger one is son, Abhishek. Jaya Bachchan did made her comeback in the Hindi movies and played role of loving and caring mothers in ‘Kaal Ho na Ho’ and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gaam’.


Dimple Kapadia

Dimple Kapadia started her acting career in Hindi movies at a very young age and she is still appearing in different Bollywood movies and showcasing her excellent career skills. Her acting career got stopped when she got married to the then superstar Rajesh Khanna and became mother of two daughters, Twinkle Khanna and Rinky Khanna. Later on Twinkle Khanna stepped into Bollywood and pursued her career in acting for some years. Dimple has played the role of mother in several movies that got released in last decade. She played the role of Akshay Kumar in the movie ‘Patiala House’ and mother of Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan in the movie ‘Dabangg’.


Kajol

Everyone got surprised when Kajol, the topmost heroine of Bollywood bid goodbye to her flourishing career after she got married to actor Ajay Devgan . Kajol preferred to remain at home looking after her kids, daughter Nysa and son Yug. She made her comeback in the film industry with the movie ‘Fanaa’ against Aamir Khan where she played the role of a caring mother. Her another remarkable role was in the movie ‘My name is Khan’ against Shahrukh Khan where she played the role the role of a Hindu single mother who got married to an autistic man who is Muslim by religion.


Karishma Kapoor

Being part of the famous Kapoor Family of Bollywood, Karishma has acting in her blood. She made a successful career in Bollywood movies playing the role of bubbly romantic girls. After she got married to businessman Sanjay Kapoor she stopped working in movies and concentrated on her family and kids. She has got a daughter Samaira and a son Kiaan. In the movie ‘Shakti’, she played the role of a concerned mother who did not want her son to be part of a family that believes in autocracy. She tried hard to get back her son from the clutches of his grandfather.

The above legendary moms of Bollywood would always remain in the heart of Hindi Movie freaks and would be remembered for their multifaceted roles.

The best legendary mom of Bollywood is none other than Nargis. She has played the character of an ideal Indian mother in this movie Mother India. It is a must watch movie for every mother in India.

I agree with you kanchi, Mother India is a best movie and it is a must watch for not only an Indian mother but also all mothers around the globe. It beautifully depicts the sacrifices that a mother does for her children and at the same time sets an example for not supporting wrong doings in children.
