Karan Johar Becomes a Father to Twins

Karan Johar recently turned parent with the help of surrogacy.  He has become a father to twins. Read on to know more.

Becoming a parent is wonderful, but everyone cannot experience this bliss. Although, some people cannot experience it the natural way, with the advancement in medical science one and all can experience the joy of parenthood through assisted reproductive techniques. These days, celebrities who prefer to remain single are also turning to surrogacy in order to give way to their parental instincts.

Noted filmmaker, producer and celebrity Karan Johar has recently become a father to a pair of twins. Find out the reason he made this decision and how his life has been impacted.

By now, we are all familiar with the term 'surrogate parenting' and 'surrogacy'. In the past, we have seen the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Tusshar Kapoor becoming parents via this method. However the news of Karan Johar becoming a parent was front-page headlines.

Single Status and Surrogate Parenting

Many people are of the view that single men or women should not be given a chance to become a parent. Singles would not be able to manage everything alone. A bill will soon be passed in the parliament prohibiting singles from turning parents via surrogacy. While, this theory might sound old-fashioned to many, it is soon going to be made into a resolution as the matter is already being discussed in the Parliament.

Heterosexual v/s Homosexual

Surrogacy is the best options for homosexuals who desire to become parents. However, the latest bill to be sanctioned by the parliament is going to allow only heterosexuals to become parents via surrogacy. Singles and homosexuals will not be allowed to have a child via surrogacy. In fact Karan Johar will be one of the last single men to become eligible for surrogacy.

Wanted to Spread the Love

Karan Johar says he thought a lot before making the decision. He knows work and travel will take a back-seat after becoming a father. He wanted to share the love with somebody. As human beings, everybody has maternal or paternal instincts. Many people feel lonely and depressed without children. People want somebody to shower and share their love. It was precisely this feeling which prompted Karan Johar to make a decision. People also need somebody to fall back on during their old age.

Front Page News

Many people are of the opinion that the news of Karan Johar becoming a father need not be front page headlines. Many newspapers carried this news item on their front page. Karan Johar is a celebrity figure many people look up to. He has set an example for many.  Despite various controversies surrounding him, he has taken the bold step of becoming a father. He admits it was not an easy decision however he made up his mind after one counselling session at the doctor's clinic.

Surrogacy in General

In his post on a social media platform, Karan Johar thanked the surrogate mother. There have been some cases where the surrogate mother was abandoned. To prevent such cases from occurring in the future, the government is going to take a strong step and ban surrogacy. The mother should also not be forgotten. Surrogacy is common in India nowadays. It is a great encouragement and motivation to become a parent. It should not be banned however the government probably knows best.

Karan Johar has named the children Roohi and Yash. The babies were born in a reputed hospital at Mumbai. Becoming a parent is a beautiful and proud moment. We wish Karan all the very best for this next journey in life. Becoming a parent is a wonderful choice irrespective of whether it happens by surrogacy or the normal way.

Surrogacy should not be banned for singles as it is their choice to remain single and have children as there is not other option for them.

Very good descision taken by Karan Johar. Even science proves that we don't have to be bound by marriage to have children.
