Behavioural Problems:Unruly behaviour
2014-11-17
Name: Lalima Mehra My daughter is 9 years old and very adamant. What she says is what she wants. She always has her way. She also answers back and never listens to us. She gets angry very quickly and when in anger, she does not what she is saying or doing. She gets hysterical and I feel scared on seeing her behaviour. Is this normal?

hello lalima,
its not normal for nine year old girl, its not good for her and for your family too, if she is that much angry then its not good for her future, otherwise it will be difficult for her.

A lot of kids do this but as parents it is your duty to make her realize that not all of her demands will be fulfilled and only the ones that are her actual need will be fulfilled. Make sure she understands otherwise it will be difficult for her.

It is true that sometimes pre-pubescent kids undergo a lot of changes and behave in a rude fashion. Give your daughter time and be strict when you need to be. However, don't raise your voice against her or don't go in for harsh punishments. My daughter underwent a change when she hit her teens and I had a tough time. In fact, I underwent counselling at her school to handle her!

Hello Lalima,
Even my child is very adamant but things changed when she started growing. This is very much normal and you need not worry about it. Wait and she will change as times goes.
