Postpartum Haemorrhage:Lot of blood loss during delivery
2012-12-26
Name: Shaina When my first baby was born,I remember being in a pool of blood. The blood was not stopping. Nurses were trying to wrap me in a towel or blanket. The doctor told me I had lost a lot of blood and there was no reason for it. After this experience I am not going in for a second baby. could anyone explain why I had to go through this?

You had a postpartum hemorrhage during your first delivery. You run a risk of having PPH in your second delivery also but you can minimize the risk and even prevent it with adequate precautions. you can have the delivery of the placenta managed in a way to minimise your chances of having PPH. Use of drugs helps in managing PPH.
