Hi,
Iam sending my 2 years old son to daycare in Hyd. I need to send the whole food to daycare along with my son. Iam putting the rice mixed with dal and veggies in hot box but the food is getting too hard by the time he eats and so he is not eating food properly. Please I need some suggestions regarding these from exp.moms and also Iam worried how to send milk for evening?

Regards,
Neelima.

Hi Neelima, i would say to send dry items which do not smell much. There are a lot of kids who do not adjust to different kind of food items so it can cause trouble to them so take things like cookies, buns.

See no matter what you give him in the tiffin he won't be able to enjoy it as it would be cold and cold food is never tasty. You can do one thing that inquire for tiffin services and have the food delivered in the afternoon.

Food is very important for a child's growth and he should be given his meals properly at proper times so why don't you hire a caretaker who will take care of your kid and also can cook meals for him instead of sending him to a daycare.

Hello Neelima,
If you are job holder and you are worried about your kid a lot why don't you ask your in-laws and your parents to stay with you and take care of your son. They will be happy and you will also discuss with your husband and take decision. They are the best for your son.

Hey .. First of all note for how long baby would be present in day care. Based on that pack the food. Boiled n cooled milk can be GI end in Tupperware water bottle. Preferably ask school to store in fridge. Heat n give to baby. Secondly food. Pack multiple boxes. U can give some biscuits crushed corn flakes. Fruits. I make snacks out of rice/wheat flour with fruits. Eg. Mix banana n rice flour with little jaggerg n make them like small dosa. My kids likes them. U can make more interesting food. Keep trying. Chapati egg roll. Dry Sandwiches. Etc. More info let me know..

yes, i agree how complicated job for a mother (Espasially working mother) to prepare all and packing it. I joined my baby at sunshine , they give milk at 4 pm . so i will send breakfast, lunch and some fruit.. My suggession presentation is very importent.. all the items must be fresh till evening.
BETTER USE TUPPERWARE AIR TIGHT CONTAINERS. As a mother I become free. Iam also a constultent for tupperware. feel free to mail me .

Hi,

Give him upma some day, give him poha, etc... pack the food in a air-tight container... non-PET. The hot boxes are not always reliable. Cool the food sufficiently before packing.

Give him multiple dabbas. Pack his vegetable in a small plastic bag. Wrap the rotis in an aluminum foil. These keep food fresher for longer.

Hope this helps.

So my sister’s child is a very fussy eater. She generally makes veggie cheese rolls or sandwiches to get her to eat her vegetables. She tries to use colourful and pretty veggies to get her to eat. Giving smoothies, fruit salads and milkshakes is another appetizing and attractive method.
