CHARACTER is a belief in an absolute system of right and wrong, combined with the will to do what is right regardless of the cost. Therefore, a person with character will say, "What's the right thing to do" and a person with NO character will say, "What's in it for me?".

Your children need to know within their hearts what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'.

Children who have been taught 'character' by mom and dad automatically know 'right' from 'wrong' and have the will to practice what is the right thing to do regardless of the cost to them.

Barbara Joy listened to parents and has written an outstanding A-Z Self-Help Parenting Guidebook for all parents worldwide regardless of race or religion in her book How to have 'Amazing Kids'

Hi Everybody!! In today's times of fast depleting values, it's real tough for us, parents to try to build the character of kids. What I think is that we should be very open to kids regarding our own values..telling the child to never say lie and practising the same in our day to day life could really be quite confusing to the child. We should be strong enough in our values, our norms of right and wrong, then there will be no formal need to teach those to the child because he will automatically imbibe them from us. I think that this is the real teaching.
Thanks...
