Subject:  Back Talking Children - Emotional Gap

Hi there, Well, it is not a new problem and have the parents ever tried to see why the kid has started doing that. Have they ever looked at their behaviour in front of kids. Have they not Back Talked to thier spouses or elders. I am not saying that its all their fault but when this is done in front of kids, they take for granted that they can get away with that since they see parents getting away with that. So it is just introspection to be done at the earliest and then see what is to be done. if after that still there are some questions left feel free to contact me.

Set consequences for your children. Tell your child that if he continues to back answer, he will not get ice cream tonight. If your child still continues to back talk, then live up to your word. Once, you set a consequence, don’t back down from it. Also, don’t belittle your children.

Tell your children that they are lucky to have parents. Some children don’t even have parents. Teach your children the importance and value of parents. Tell him that good children do not disobey. Teach your child that talking that way is not going to get him what he wants.

Teach your child how to handle disappointment. Tell him that things cannot always go his way. Teach your child how to cope or handle disappointment without taking out his disappointment or displeasure on parents. Tell him that he should not speak rudely to parents or any other elders.
