Name: V I Can anyone tell me how to speed up the process of adoption when you have already identified the child. I live in the US and my homestudy starts next week. They say it takes 9 - 12 months..is anyone out there who has better luck in getting their child under their custody earlier than 9 - 12 months. Curious!

how long do you think it takes to try to conceive and then carry the child to term? 9-12 months seems like a reasonable time to wait to have a child, don't you think?

Adoption is a long process but it is worth it in the end. It took me a total of 18 months from start to finish to bring my daughter home. I have been blessed with a beautiful child and in fact today was her final adoption swearing in ceremony here in the US
