C-Section:chance of a normal delivery
2004-12-14
Name: Hema Hai,

I had delivered by emergency C-section almost 2 years ago, due to fetal distress. I am 4 months pregnant now & I would like to know, what is the chance of a normal delivery. They say trying for a normal delivery could be risky. Is that so???

Jennie is right your cut nevr heals from the inside there can be damage if you have your baby vaginally just from all the pushes you will give.
with my situation i was induced due to high blood pressure. My baby was on my pelvic bone..his head was inflamed so i also had an emergency c-section.
Discuss your concerns with your doctor. Some doctors do not want to risk vaginal delivery after having a cesarian..

hi
my first delivery was through c-section. i just had another delivery through same. not to discourage you or scare you, my doctor did not even let me try for vaginally the second time due to possible risk to baby and me. the reason behind that is that you already have a scar on your uterus and that could rupture and can cause complications to baby and you, including death. this decision is really between you and your md. please make an informed decision.

it is possible to VBAC after c-section. depending on your doctor, location, etc..
like you, i had c-section 15 months ago, and due for giving birth in a few days.
there is a small risk of the scar tearing, and most doctors prefer you to be monitored..
good luck in what you decide on doing.

RE:C-Section
C-sections are planned when the mother wishes to escape the labor pain or in emergencies like if the cord is entangled around the baby's neck and the baby's life is at risk. But i think natural delivery is always a better option.... - Neeta [View Message]
