There is lot of mental tension during pregnancy regarding delivering a baby. Yoga helps to reduce tension during pregnancy. It helps to become physically and mentally strong to deliver a baby. I got married at the age of nineteen and I got pregnant immediately. I was really scared as I had to face pregnancy at much younger age. It was easier for me to cope with fear with the help of yoga. My husband and my family also supported me a lot for doing yoga during my pregnancy. It was a lovely experience to get all the attention and love from every body throughout the pregnancy and post-delivery.

I have been practicing yoga since three years. I also practiced yoga during pregnancy. It was easier for me to deliver a baby naturally and with minimal pain. I see many women growing fat after delivery but I was very happy that I could maintain a nice body shape even after a baby. It was all possible because of yoga practice. I love practicing yoga and suggest pregnant women to do it. It is necessary to consult doctor and yoga expert before performing yoga during pregnancy. Yoga makes life of pregnant women easier and tension free.

Hi Roopa,

If you want to practice yoga during pregnancy, you should only practice it under the trustworthy yoga expert´ s guidance. You should also consult your doctor before you practice yoga. The yoga expert will be in a best position to tell you about the yoga postures to be practiced during pregnancy!

Please DO NOT try yoga on your own especially when you are pregnant

nice too know that i have maintained ur self better with yoga. n that helped u in ur delivery also. actually i´ m in my 30th week of pregnancy n gained abt 16 kgs of weight already n my eight mnth would start from 25th Nov. can u suggest me what in yoga can i do. i know pranayam. still pls help me out what yoga should i practise to hav a normal delivery n wont gain more weight n which can help me to reduce my weight easily also after delivery.though my due date is 30th Jan.

It is very dangerous to practice yoga during pregnancy without expert’s guidance. Pregnant women should not practice difficult yoga poses without expert’s help. The yoga experts know better about the poses which will suit better to pregnant women in which month. However practicing yoga is very much beneficial for minimal labour pain. Yoga practice make human physically and mentally strong. It is better to cope with stress and other health problems. It helps proper blood circulation in the body and makes you feel fresh. Performing yoga during pregnancy is a must for the working women. This is because working women has to be bounded to chair for long hours.
