Due Date Club September 2008:Baby´ s Head is not engaged into Pelvic

Name: Nidhi Hi MTB' s,

My Due date is sept 11 and I have compleated my 37 weeks. Yesterday I had my doctors visit and get to know that I have some bacterial infection in vergina and also my babys head is still not engaged in pelvic area.

This is my 1st baby and I am not sure when this process should happen. If babys head is not engaged that what would be doctor b doing (C section or will she wait).

Please help me with this as I am afraid...

Hi Nidhi,

Baby' s head might engage anytime around 38 weeks. If the Baby is big, it will not engage until your contractions start. That is what i was told during my first pregnancy. My son was 8 pound and 21 3/4 inches @ birth and he decended to the pelvic only b4 the day he was born. DOnt get tensed. RElax...that is what you need now to move the things smoothly.
