Shy Kids:Shy Kid
2002-06-19
Name: Mommy

We live Abroad and have 2 year old daughter. She is very shy, specially towards males. If we have guests in our house she even doesnot go to her father and feels very insecure. She starts crying. She has no problems with females.Otherwise she is very outgoing type. Now we are going back to our home country;so she will be dealing with more family members at home all the time. Anybody have any suggestions to overcome this problem.
Thanks

Oh God!! It is quite norml behaviour.Nothing to worry about \";abuse\"; and all these stuff. It's just that she might have seen some dangerous male villians on TV.She'll outgrow it.Just give her some time and stop watching action movies infront of her.

it is not surprising for kids to be shy at that age.

you need to encourage her to make new friends and talk to her uncles and aunties.

However, do not force her or leave her with strangers. She will feel worse.

Most kids grow out of being shy, and lead sucessful lives as adults.

good luck

Does you daughter has some fear about men in her mind? is she got some abuse from any man...which you may not be knowing. Try to find out that. Child abuse is a very important factor.

RE:Shyness right or wrong?
Hello dear this is really nothing to worry as its very common and you should not take this matter as a big concern as kids at this age are normally shy and they do not like meeting new people infact they want only their friends and all with them.... - Anita [View Message]
RE:Shyness right or wrong?
According to me you should take your child to a counselor and ask her what is the exact problem as this is not common and you should get into it as soon as possible and understand the real reason behind the same, please do not ignore this its a request.... - Anaida [View Message]

Hi dear i can understand this issue as the same was the case with my son and till the age of 14 he was like this then someone told me to put him in personality development course and after doing so there was a complete change in his body language and he was totally different.... - Anaida [View Message]
