The purpose of sending your kid to a nursery is that he or she will learn how to mix up with the other kids and are taught simple alphabets and what they stand for and everything related to it and also first 10 numbers.

Hello sannvi,
In any schools kids of 3.5 years will be learnt about some rhymes, numbers and alphabets and in some schools kid will be taught with some words orally. SO such words can be even taught by parents at home also.

Children going to nursery schools would be taught the following things-
on the first place
*identifying alphabets and numbers and saying orally
*identifying colours
*identifying and saying general things like fruits, vegetables, vehicles, animals etc.
*identifying shapes and arranging them in certain play activities
*speaking and understanding little commands like goodmorning, thank you, sorry etc.
and in the second place
*getting started with writing, starting with standing, slanting, sleeping lines,circles,semi-circles which gives them the basic training to write alphabets and numbers.
This is the basic curriculum. But still it varies from school to school. As most of the above things will be learnt at home, they can very well cope up.

RE:Pre-school for my son
There is pathshaala and also chitkara international school in chandighar. Both of these are very good options for your kid and you should think about visiting them and talking to the head teachers there and see how exactly the school is.... - Ashna [View Message]
RE:Early nursery
Playschool at the age of 2 is perfect and i think you should let him be there as for now and you can shift him to the nursery after a year. You should not hurry too much for your child. ... - NN [View Message]

RE:Nursery is good
I totally agree on this. Its not about what they study in the nursery but when a child interacts with different kids there he learns many things and that helps him to be more active and intellectual and develops his personality. ... - Ashna [View Message]

RE:PreSchool Nursery near Tirmulgherry, Secunderabad
For enrolling your kid in nursery in think it would be better for you to wait til she turns 3 and then enroll her to a nursery as it would be a perfect age for that. Well there is no compulsion to it but you can wait a lil.... - Noman [View Message]
