Hi Neha! One of my friends at my daughter's school Orchids taught me this - my youngest wouldn't stop this habit even @ 4 years and I applied neem oil for a week while he was asleep on his thumb. He would wake up crying and throw tantrums but eventually stopped :)

\" Femite\" - a preoduct from Fem is available in Medical stores. It is clear colorless liquid with bitter taste, specifically designed to stop thumb sucking. I have personally tried it on my boy when he was one year old. he stopped thumb sucking when i continuously applied it for 1 week

Hi Girls,

I have a son who is 2 years / 10months and also a daughter now 16 months.

Even i am going through the same problem. Both my children have got the habbit of sucking the fingers. I had tried the kaddo which is really very very bitter for my son when he was around 18 months or so. He still used to suck his fingers and the kadoo did not have any effect for my son.

I don´ t know whether i will find femite as suggested by sangeeta as we stay in singapore. But have to stop both my kids.

Thanks,
Mihika

Hi neha

My daughter used to suck her thumb till she was 22 month old.then i started to apply MAVALA on her thumb and within a month she stopped thumbsucking.Although i used to tell her that its not nice suck thumb.i used to tell dat everybody will say bad about this......so i dont know exactly what worked but she doesnt do it anymore.its been 3 months now .i am so happy...so i know what your are going through.
Any way if your son doesnt stop it inspite of using MAVALA.then dont push it....he will stop it gradually.
Good luck
Subu.

RE:Thumb sucking
Oh dear please stop worrying so much as this is not a big issue and your kid will stop sucking his thumb after some point of time so please relax and just be calm and everything will be normal also do not force your kid on leaving this All the best dear.... - Anu [View Message]
RE:Thumb sucking
Hi there please do not think so much and just visit a chemist and ask for a liquid solution as there is a solution which needs to be applied on the kids thumb so as he tries to suck it there would be bitter taste and by this he will not suck it again.... - Anushree [View Message]

its not good at 9 years old doctors do her surgery for tonsils, you should take care of her, like dont allow her to eat cold food and cold water too, its not good for her so dont allow her.... - rachna [View Message]
RE:Tonsilitis
hello pihu,
how you came to know that your daughter suffer from tonsils, you should not put assumption and check and confirm from child specialist then only you should take next step towards surgery.... - raghu [View Message]
