Can´ t wait to have til ke laddoo make by my mummy. Sankranti is the first huge festival of the year and since this time it is on a Monday, we have a long weekend. I was reading about Sankranti and the various ways in which it is celebrated across India. But, what caught my sight was what do we teach our kids from it. I was reading this article on the Humpty Bumpty Kids parenting blog.

there is a significance behind celebrating Makar Sankranti.all the Hindu Gods and Goddesses roam on the the earth after acquiring human form near sangam. So to absolve of all sins, it is a must to take a holy dip in Ganges during this time.

Makar sankranti is the first festival of New year. I enjoy a lot during this festival with cousins. We perform puja together and then have a blast eating til and jaggery laddoos.
