2008-06-11
Name: Shankar I am a 38 year old male in Bangalore. We have 2 kids and I have decieded to have the Vasectomy done in Bangalore. Can anyone who has gone thru this in Bangalore please recommend doctor/hospital and the experience. I am very apprehensive about this procedure, but since my wife has gone thru 2 c-sections, I want to be under the knife this time. Thanks for any info provided.

I recently had NSV performed by Dr. Jagadish at Amar nursing home, chamrajpet. Dr. Jagadish is very experienced and it was a painless 10 minute procedure, recovery was fast as well. Highly recommend him. He also does NSV at the Family welfare hospital as well.

Subject:  Done NSV
Hi,
I have done NSV from Govt Hospital KR Puram Bangalore. It was a 10 minute small work for doctors and I have taken 7 days simple rest - next day onwards I am working and 2nd day we had sex...
It was a wonderful experience.. there is no change in my sex experience and health. I feel much better than before and more energetic and healthy.
Not tired after intercourse may be because only the semen is going out sperms are reversing by body and that gives more energy.

Thanks to Doctors and other support staff there for very nice behaviour.

Thanks to India Govt for Rs. 1100/- reward.

RAJ

Hey Shankar,

I got a vasectomy done on myself a few years ago at Manipal hospital. It is a simple procedure, totally painless since it is done under general anaesthesia. You don' t even need to get admitted - you show up at the hospital in the morning at around 7:30-8:00 am, and you' re back home the same day around 3:00pm you can even go to work the next day, although I was a bit cautious and spent the next day at home watching TV :-)

What I suggest is: call Manipal or any other well-known hospital and ask for an appointment with the Urology specialist. Go to the appointment, and tell the Dr that you want a vasectomy. He' ll do a few routine checks (BP etc.), and if everything is fine, he' ll give you a date for the surgery. Ask him all your questions and doubts.

For about a couple of months after the surgery, you still use your current contraception method, since apparently there are a few sperm floating around. You then get a semen test done, and if the result is zero sperm, then you' re done.

H.

Hayag,
Thanks so much for this info, very useful indeed. I am giving this a second thought after reading that Vasectomy may cause Dementia. Since URL cannot be posted in the message, I am unable to provide you the exact link, however do a google search on vasectomy and dementia and you will see the results.

I am not sure if this link to Dementia is something that is hyped.

Thanks,
Shankar
