hi sree, i guess u r in Bangalore and this is a strange phenomenon we see here... wonder why every one is after CBSE and considering ICSE bad. I had my schooling in a CBSE school, n not in bangalore... those days we used to compare with the ICSE kids... they had lesser homework than we did and sounded knowledgeable. but thts just from the looks anyway. i think both have their merits n demerits. icse, as far as what i know, gets tougher as u reach middle school n high school... but the basement laid (in primary) is strong, with not as much work load as in CBSE. CBSE is kinda uniform workload all through. this is what i feel... but do enquuire well before u choose a syllabus... n dont get carried away by the common prejudices
good luck

Shree,I have heard that CBSE is more tougher syllabus wise...also they stress more on Hindi....thats the reason I' m thinking of an ICSE board for my 3 yr old.

Please stay away from YLP
I registered my son in YLP thinking that it will be a good place for him to spend 2-3 hours a day since in this time we will not be there at home (both me and my wife). It was the very first day I went to pick my son, and found him crying badly. I was scared and took my son home. We decided to withdraw the registration since my son is just 1 year old and cannot speak anyt... - Ramakant [View Message]
Right Age for PHONICS Program
Hi Sam! I too subscribe to your thought. But phonics can be learnt from the age of 3. I guess this is similar to acitivating the right side of the brain and methodologies that surround it. I for one dont go in for these while my sister and her hubby are all for it and vouch by it. You could test the program on a trial run and see if it is beneifical if it is, continue with... - ravina singh [View Message]
