I am diagnosed with border line GD. I had my one hour glucose test last week and it was 135. My gynec asked me to go for Glucose tolerance test (3 hour) and 1 out of the 3 readings came to be high. she said I am on borderline for GD. she asked me to follow strict diet and monitor my sugar levels after each meal.

I have gestational diabetes too. Mine is quite high and i need to take insulin regularly even though i control my diet.
I eat less carbs - and the carbs that i do eat are healthy - rolled oats, multigrain bread and basmati rice or pastas.
If you are borderline, i do not think the doctors will give u any insulin. Stay away from things like potatoes, soft drinks, Jasmin rice, ghee or butter, tropical fruits like banana, mango etc (you can have other fruits like apple, pear, orange etc).
Have margarine instead of butter.

Jichi replied. I am having 1 hr GTT tomorrow......infact i forgot that totally and seeing your message reminded me of the test....i ate one full dairy milk bar an hr before:-((

Eat less rice more green veggies,Go for walk atleast 20 mins after meals. Avoid fruit juices. Drink lots and lots of water.
