Subject:  Cough
Hi,
My pregnancy just in the 4th week of pregnancy. But since last week I am having a very bad cough, which looks like allergic in nature. I am now becoming quite paranoid with it. Does this impact the baby in adversely, and what can I do to control this. I am taking milk an turmeric, doing gargles and following many other home remedies, but nothing is helping me.

I had similar problem and was close to taking antibiotic. However a cough syrup - Corex recommended to be safe by my gynae helped me after all home remedies failed. Hope it works for you too. Take care.

I am having the same problem. My coughing is so bad, i really worry its gonna harm the baby.
Archana, my doc told me take some off the counter robitussin, but i'm avoiding it till i can. I'm taking some mulaithi for my cough and taking a little steam too for the stuffed up nose.
BTW, i have a little fever too, around like 99 or something, do u think its bad for the baby?

Hi seema,
darling dont worry coughing doesn't affect the baby at all..its all natural actions hence dont worry..ur body will take proper care of that..i have confirmed this with my gynac as well as with many old wives..

But for fever check with ur Gynac..its not advisable to have very high fever..urs is not very high but still why take chances with help of ur doc u can take crocin or so..its safe..

all the best

hello editor,
hypertension is high blood pressure, normal blood pressure level is 140/90 but if blood pressure is more than that then its not good for pregnancy, so try to keep your blood pressure under control.... - bhavika [View Message]
