I am well aware about the major Christian festivals such as Easter, Good Friday and Christmas. I have heard a lot about Lent? Is it same as Easter? When it is celebrated and what is its significance? Could somebody enlighten me?

Hi Maya, There are many other festivals besides those mentioned by you. I am happy that you want to know more about Christian festivals. Lent is a 40 day period of fasting and penance prior to Easter. Easter Day begins with Easter vigil on Saturday evening. So Lent and Easter are different.
