See no matter what reason you give it is not acceptable to beat a 4 and a half year old kid. You need to bring your anger under control as soon as possible as if you keep hitting you kid he might grow up to hate you.

You can lose your temper and starting hitting your kid because i don't think any kid will ever do anything to be beaten so badly. There are anger management classes available that can help you a lot managing your anger issues.

Hi maya,
So you are hitting the kid for every reason do you think it is good one to do but it is not the correct method to deal with the kids. You need to explain to them with love and you must be so kind with kind to them.

Hello maya,
First you need to change your nature because you can not control your anger. But she is your kid if you behave in the same way to your kid she will be having some fear to you. So hope you control your anger.

I understand your situation! Sometimtes our temper gets the better of us! However cliched it might sound, I am not at all for hitting and by your account, neither are you. Try not to repeat this and try reasoning with the child a lil later .

people are divided over this issue. We adopt parenting styles from our parents. Abroad, it’s a criminal offense to hit a child, even if one´ s own. Try to reason with your child and make him/ her see the error. Making them understand is the way. Ever wondered how teachers manage so many kids at the same time without getting physical?

The practice of hitting children teaches them to become hitters themselves. The child then feels it is appropriate to mistreat younger or smaller children.Hitting also affects the self esteem of the child so it will be better for you to stop hitting your son. He may have serious problems in future.

I am facing the same problem. i am short tempered. Ia m unable to control my anger. whenever I see some mistakes, I lose my cool and most often my son bears the brunt of my anger. I tried controlling but could not do so. Now the situation is that my son always says that he hates me and I do not love him.

You need to control your anger. When you are angry, you are unable to control it and hit your child. Though you repent later, but your hitting will leave an indelible mark on your kid. She may feel inferior or unloved. I suggest you to take anger management classes to nurture a healthy relationship between you and your child.

Hi,
My daughter, 5 yr seems to be pulling her eyelashes and brows out. I noticed this when I saw a patch of hair missing from her eye lashes. Both me and my husband warned her about this, took all the approaches to scare her and make her understand not to do it, asked her why she was doing it, last time it was even swollen and sore on the brow after doing it while ... - Vinitha Menon [View Message]
